MOM’S cooking is always the best. No matter how much we enjoy food prepared by others, at the end of the day, it’s mother’s cooking that we crave for.
“It’s prepared with love that is why it tastes so good to us,” said local performer Syed Muradzi Syed Shamsul Baharun or better known as Dee.
Dee said one of his favourite dishes was his mother’s rendang, which to him was the best rendang ever as it’s not too dry or wet. He said the whole family used to look forward to have his mother’s rendang everytime during Raya.
The dishes are part of the hotel’s promotion called Ramadan Nostal-gia With Dee, that would also see the entertainer sharing with guests some of his friends’ favourite re-cipes.
Among the other dishes prepared by Dee are masak lemak ketam jintan manis, daging goreng Moon berlada hitam, ayam goring Cik Bedah and daging nasi kandar. Most of them were the recipe of his best friend Munir Sheikh Mahmud or Moon, who was also his co-star in the sitcom Jangan Ketawa in the 1990s. Moon passed away a few years ago.
Guests can also enjoy a variety of fried items including pisang, cempe-dak and sukun fried on the spot.
The buffet spread is priced at RM 65++ per person and children bet-ween four and 12 and senior citizens enjoy a 50% discount.
